Cozumel Restaurants with beaches in town.

Cozumel Mexico is an ever evolving place. And if you don't live here and want to know what is going on it is best to check with a source that does. I haven't changed this web site for quite some time but read some ms-information on a "blog" and decided to set the record straight. Grant and his wife did not move to Turkey. They did however move to another country where they bought a small bed and breakfast with a bar. They are very happy and claim that the local The No Name Bar, Cozumel Mexicogovernment is extremely business friendly.

Mike Slaughter is not the owner operator. He ran the French Quarter when it was in it's heyday. Things started to turn after Hurricane Wilma and by the time he decided to "retire" it was a good decision. He sold the French Quarter to a man who came down to give his son something to do with his life. It isn't doing very well now. So much for trying to help his son! It is now a shadow of its former self. Mike to an unsuspecting guy who thought he could make the French Quarter work as a sports bar again. Seems that everyone knew he couldn't except him. In the meanwhile Mike buys Grant's No Name Bar with its built in cruise ship crew members clientele intact. That brings us up to date; June 28th 2015.

The No Name Bar took over the pool bar at the Barracuda hotel years ago. Anyone who knows Cozumel restaurants and bars will know No Name Bar as being one of the best places to have a laugh and be entertained while you drink. The proprietor (Grant or AKA: Sonny Winters) was a professional entertainer in the cruise ship industry for several years before he became a "Land Lubber". His warm greeting would instantly set you at ease and his wit would keep you smiling. Mike has the same talent for entertaining and getting guests to smile. If you are in the mood to relax and have good conversation with friends while enjoying the beach in town, this is definitely the place for you. No Name Bar is a restaurant with a passion for unique flavorful foods with mixtures to please every palate.

The setting is beach sand and turquoise Mexican Caribbean water. The pool is inviting and you can even belly up to the pool bar and drink your favorite beverage and have lunch or an early dinner as you watch the sunset. Of course being a popular hangout for the crews ship crew when they are not working is always entertaining. It can sometimes make the view rather distracting but interesting nonetheless! Weather you are coming to feast on the fresh cobb/chicken salad, Nachos, or to stimulate your senses with a cold Margarita; you will definitely leave with a smile on your face! The view is simply breath taking! The menu is constantly evolving. No Name Bar is always in search of the freshest ingredients on the island to represent the very best gastronomic creations possible.

Average prices are as follows (they have gone up since this was first written):

  • Salads: 70 pesos (around $6.25 USD)
  • Soups: 60 pesos (around $5.35 USD)
