Cozumel Map; From Macro to Micro!

Cozumel map is a phrase used every day by people who are planning their vacation and want to get a feel for the "lay of the land" before coming. Sometimes even seasoned veterans want to refresh their minds or want to see if something has changed since their last visit. One thing is for sure; whether you are coming for the first time, or you just want to think about where you are going; a map is worth a thousand words.

For those of you who are not completely sure of where Cozumel is or what to expect of the geography; you've come to the right place. To the right you see a general map which shows the dive spots on the leeward side of the island (the west side). There is diving on the windward side but there are also dangerous rip tides and undertows so it is best to do your swimming, snorkeling and diving on the leeward side. To see a bigger map that is easier to read just click on the map to the right and another larger one will pop up.

Here is another map that I've always liked (below). It just has prettier graphics but is the same map of Cozumel that you will see everywhere. It's pretty hard to change mother nature! If you click on it the larger version will pop up as well.

If you are interested in seeing a beach map the best place to go is our "Cozumel Beaches" map which is very popular and will give you a great idea of where the beaches are in relation to town and what they look like as well as a description of the beach.

As you can see from the top of the page we started by showing almost the whole western hemisphere. Then we narrowed it down to the state Quintana Roo which is our Island state. Then we focused on our Cozumel Island map, reef map and beaches map. You might ask if there are any other maps. Well aside from a street map you would need to get pretty picky!! So without further delay, here is a street map of Cozumel.
Street Map of Cozumel

You will note that the streets (called Calle) run one way (generally east/west), and the Av. (Called Avenidas here) run generally north and south. Make sure to remember a general rule when you come here to visit. The Avenidas generally have the right of way (unless there is a stop light) and the Calles must yield. I find that it is best to be careful WHENEVER you approach an intersections, because maybe the "other guy" doesn't know the rules. Another bit of advise that can make the difference between a vacation in paradise or a vacation you would rather forget, is to not rent a moped! I've said it many times but they are the leading cause of accidents on the island and many if not most involve tourists.

I hope that you have found this macro to micro Cozumel Map page both useful as well as entertaining. We want for you to have the best vacation ever on Cozumel and please tell your friends and family about Cozumelmexico.net (your personal guide to Cozumel). The only one that gives FREE information and not paid advertizing!
