Cozumel shopping is always looking for new unique boutiques. Here are our latest finds!

 

Cozumel Shopping is more then just Mexican Curios!

 If you don't already know about it; the local government has just about completed a complete remodeling of the downtown sidewalks. It looks simply fantastic! There are park benches, landscaping, palm trees, streetlamps, and now outdoor cafes are beginning to sprout up! This is exciting news for anyone that knows Cozumel and if you have never been here this is even more of a reason to come.

Le Chef is one such eatery that now has outdoor seating and also sells a wonderful assortment of gourmet delights, wine and also has a most charming atmosphere to boot.

Le Chef is located on the corner of Aveneda 5 and Calle 5. It is very convenient to the waterfront and is worth a visit!

There are also a group of new ready to wear stores that have clustered near the corner of  Rafael Melgar (water front Blvd.) and north of Calle 11 which is just north of the new Margaritaville. As a side note there is a new steak and seafood eatery on the water front just to the south of Margaritaville which looks rather him and chick! I haven't eaten there yet but here it is pretty good.

Cozumel shopping for Cowboys and cowgirls!

OK; maybe it isn't a boutique. And maybe Rogers Boots is not even Unique! So you might ask yourself; why are we even mentioning a leather store?!

The fact of the matter is that tons of tourists, especially those that come from Texas and certain parts of Europe, consider Mexican leather goods to be some of the finest in the world. On top of that the prices are exceptional. For these two reasons alone we needed to add "Rogers Boots" to our list of "Unique Boutiques".

Rogers Boots has the largest selection of leather goods on the island. From belts to shoes to Brief Cases, and gun holsters; Rogers Boots is sure to carry them. Their hand carved leather designs make these pieces a work of art.

Rogers Boots is located near the corner of Rosada Salas and  the Water front.

In keeping with our theme, we have compiled a list of very special honorable mentions. They are a short list of restaurants that have taken it upon themselves to color Cozumel with tasteful facades that give the island charm and a very special uniqueness!

 

La Lobsteria is one of our newest additions. Last night (May 1st, 2004) as we were gathering our GPS coordinates. Our last stop was La Lobsteria. We ate a ton of food and it was above average. The clam chowder was especially good. La Lobsteria is definitely in the style that rates an honorable mention in, Unique Boutiques! The ambiance inside was just as unique and beautiful as the outside (even more so).

Manatee is one of our favorite restaurants. I think that the character of this traditional Mayan structure speaks for itself. The food is also eclectic and tasty. There is seating inside and also a "palapa" seating area at the back end or the restaurant. The decor is absolutely charming.

Well, it's getting late and I am going to call it a night. Tomorrow is another day and I think I will start it off at Saint Augustines (shown in this photo). They took an old house and converted it to a coffee house. It is beautiful inside and a great place to sit with friends and have coffee and a Danish (or should I say Spanish)?! :0)
