Cozumel Mexico Vacation Guide
Cozumel Mexico: Corona Bar

Cozumel Mexico; The New Corona Bar

Cozumel Mexico has a night life that is dominated by Salsa for the most part. There is a Jazz scene emerging but for now the only Rock and Roll/Alternative scene can be found at the new Corona Bar, restaurant, and night club. They used to be located next to Banamex in the town square but one day I noticed that they were gone. I just assumed that another night club just bit the dust so to speak. But to my surprise the Corona Bar reopened on Cozumel in the back of the "California Plaza". It isn't the easiest place to find but everyone knows where the huge Mexican Flag is on the water front. Well, if you walk to the east away from the flag till you just about get to the end of the pedestrian walkway you will find it on the right hand side. The picture above was taken of the front so that you will know what to look for. Just walk in and the bar is situated in back of the plaza.

Agi owns the Corona Bar with her husband Roger.

The owners; Roger and Agi (Agi is in the picture) are gracious and hard working.

During the day you can have great Cozumel cuisine at a very reasonable prices.

It was a hot day while I was there so I decided to have the shrimp ceviche. It was fantastic; and I am very picky when it comes to fresh ceviche (seafood cooked in lime with other spices and flavors).

I took some video which you can watch (below) to give you an idea of the feel, sights, and sounds of the night club on ladies night; which is every Thursday.

The night club's on the Cozumel don't really crank up until 12 midnight so I wouldn't plan any early morning activities the next day if I were planning on partying here.

If you are in the mood to see how the locals party on Ladies Night and want to get a real feel for Cozumel Mexico's culture, and Cozumel Mexico's Corona Bar Band experience the sights and sounds of Rock and Roll/Alternative, then "Welcome to The Jungle"!!!

It's fun, entertaining and a great way to get a true taste of what it is like to be in Cozumel Mexico as the younger more liberated set.

If you would like to see some more images of the Corona bar I've put together a slide show presentation as well. Just click here for that.

So for a video taste with sound just scroll down to the bottom of the page and press on the play button; you will see Cozumel's original "Roving Reporter" in action taking in the night life!

We are always trying to stay on top of what is going on as the island evolves. So keep checking back from time to time if you want to stay in the know! Also make sure to check the Roving Reporter for new features; both here on and on the mainland.

We look forward to your arrival!
